Fire at Red’s Place in Downtown Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls firefighters still remain on the scene. Red’s employees say that the bar could be open as soon as Friday night but it will be about one week before they resume lunch service.

The fire has been extinguished but firefighters remain on the scene. While it appears the building avoided any structural damage, the kitchen area and southwest corner of the third-story apartment most likely suffered major smoke & water damage. According to reports from firefighters at the scene the fire started in the wall of the 2nd story of the building, in the kitchen area behind the gas grill.

Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Fayette, Border City, Red Jacket & Romulus firefighters are currently at the scene of a fire at long-time downtown Seneca Falls restaurant & tavern Red’s Place which started on Thursday morning just before 10:00 am.

As of 10:20 am firefighters continue to battle the blaze which apparently started in the kitchen area of the southwest corner of the street level of the 3-story building. There is an apartment above the business on the third level. No injuries are reported and all employees, residents and pets were safely evacuated from the building and neighboring businesses and apartments.
