New slate of officers for Geneva Chamber

The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected a new slate of officers for 2008. Robert Schick, President and CEO, The Lyons National Bank, is assuming the role of chair of the board, taking over from Marc Smith, Assistant Director, NYS Agricultural Experiment Station. President and CEO of The Lyons National Bank since 1994, Robert Schick is a 40-year career banker with money center, regional, and community banks. Geneva resident and Graduate of Medaille College (Buffalo) and University of Delaware Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Schick is President-elect of the Independent Bankers Association of New York; Board Member of New York Bankers Association, member and past-chairman of the NYBA Retirement System. He is also President of The Finger Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America; Chair of Council Capital Campaign; Board Member Keuka College – Treasurer; Board Member, Jobs for Geneva; Board Member; Wayne County Empire Zone Board; past President of Finger Lakes Arts Council (Smith Opera House) Board. “Bob’s experience in business and his community leadership ensure that he will be a great leader for the chamber.” said Rob Gladden, chamber president. “I’m really looking forward to working with him.”Rounding out the slate of newly-elected officers are: Alan Bishop, General Manager, Finger Lakes Radio Group, will serve as First Vice Chair and Vice Chair of the Business Council; Kelly Mittiga, First Vice President/District Manager, First Niagara Bank, will serve as Treasurer. Mary Boatfield, Executive Director, Happiness House – Finger Lakes Cerebral Palsy Association, Inc., will serve as Vice Chair of Membership Development Council.Spike Herzig, The Herzig Group, will serve as Vice Chair of Tourism Development Council.Bob Pass, NYSEG, will serve as Vice Chair of Programs and Events Advisory Council.Dick Conoyer, CCN International, and Mike Briggs, Bank of the Finger Lakes, were elected as new directors to the 2008 Chamber Board. Existing director’s include Greg Barnard, Barnard Auto Group; Sandra Bissell, Hobart and William Smith Colleges; Christine Clark, Geneva on the Lake; Mary Ann Eldred, Finger Lakes Health; John Kenny, Canal Side Gifts; Lewis Irvin, Finger Lakes Medical Associates; Brian Nicholson, Red Jacket Orchards; Scott Osborn, Fox Run Vineyards; James Vedora, Community Bank N.A.; Dr. Robert Young, Geneva City School District. The new officers and board members will take office effective January 1, 2008.The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is the premier business organization of the Geneva area representing over 550 members.
