Man arrested after burglarizing SF business

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that deputies arrested Burnie E. Daniels, 42, of 19 Gateway Rd. Rochester NY for two counts each of Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Petit Larceny. Daniels was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree and Criminal Possession of Burglar’s Tools. Deputies said that Daniels was apprehended after an audible alarm was activated at a Town of Seneca Falls business. Deputies and Troopers stopped Daniels car on St. Rt. 414 in the Town of Tyre. After investigating the incident it was alleged that Daniels stole $211 in cash and during the theft Daniels damaged the property of a local business. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Daniels was in possession of a glass smoking device that contained cocaine residue along with a hammer and crowbar that was used in the larceny and damage of the business’s property. Daniels was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court in front of Justice Mahoney. Justice Mahoney committed Daniels to the custody of the Seneca County Sheriff in lieu on $5,000 cash and $10,000 issued bond on the charges of Criminal Possession of Burglar’s Tools and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Charges. Daniels was committed on $10,000 cash or $20,000 insured bond on the Criminal Mischief and Petit Larceny charges. Daniels is scheduled to appear in the Town of Tyre Court on 4/26/08 to answer to the Criminal Possession of Burglar Tools and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th charge. Daniels is scheduled to appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court on 5/16/08 to answer to the Criminal Mischief 4th and Petit Larceny charges. Deputies said that the investigation is continuing pending further charges in multiple jurisdictions.
