Weekend drug sweep nets 5 arrests in Seneca

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of five individuals in a drug sweep that occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. The suspects were arrested on numerous drug related charges coming from investigations that occurred over the course of the last several months. Arrested on 5/22/08 was Mykel A. Wing, 18, of 17 S. Seneca St in the Village of Waterloo on counts of Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 2nd degree (class D felony) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation). Deputies state that Wing sold a quantity of marijuana to an individual under the age of 18 in the Village of Waterloo. Wing was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court in front of Justice Mattoon and was committed to the custody of the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insured bond. Wing is scheduled to reappear on 5/28/08 to answer to the charges.Arrested on 5/23/08, while in the Village of Waterloo was Daniel J. Tiaskkun, 17, of E. River St. in the Village of Waterloo. Tiaskkun was charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 3rd degree (class E felony) and Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th degree (class B misdemeanor). Deputies stated that Tiaskkun sold over 25 grams of marijuana to an individual constituting a felony sale charge. Tiaskkun was also arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court and was committed to the custody of the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 insured bond. Tiaskkun is slated to appear on 5/28/08 in the Village of Waterloo Court. The Village of Waterloo Police Dept. assisted the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office in this case. Michael W. Gladis, 22, of 69 Mynderse St. Seneca Falls was arrested on 5/24/08 on charges of Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation). Deputies say that Gladis sold a quantity of marijuana to an individual in the Town of Waterloo. Gladis was arraigned in the Town of Waterloo Court in front of Town Justice Marsh. Gladis was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court on 6/10/08 to answer to the charges. On Saturday 5/24/08 Deputies took Tyrone J. Carter, 18, of 1619 Birdsey Rd. Waterloo into custody on charges of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation) and Criminal Sale of Marijuana 2nd degree (class D felony). These charges stem from an incident that occurred in the Village of Waterloo. Carter sold a quantity of marijuana to a person under the age of 18 while in the Village of Waterloo. Deputies also charged Carter with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree (class C felony), Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree (class D felony), Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 2nd degree (class D Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation) from an incident that occurred in the Town of Seneca Falls. During this incident, Carter sold marijuana and ecstasy to an individual. Carter was arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court in front of Justice Mahoney on the Village of Waterloo charges as well as the Town of Seneca Falls charges. Carter was committed to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 insured bond and is scheduled to appear in both the Town of Seneca Falls Court and the Village of Waterloo Court at a later date to answer to his charges. Also arrested on 5/24/08 was Keith A. McNeil, 21, of 2116 Yellow Tavern Rd, Fayette, on charges of Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (violation). Deputies said that McNeil sold a quantity of marijuana to an individual in the Town of Fayette. McNeil was arraigned in front of Justice Dean in the Town of Fayette Court and was remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 insured bond. McNeil is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fayette Court on 6/4/08. JGNII#113 CEM#104
