False report by SF man, wounds were self-inflicted

At 6:55 a.m. on September 1, 2008, the Seneca Falls Police arrested David M. Wells Sr., age 54, of 61 State Street, Apt. A, Seneca Falls, NY. Police charged Wells with Falsely Reporting an incident in the 3rd Degree. On August 31, 2008 at approximately 11:08 p.m., Wells reported to village police that he had been jumped and stabbed by 3 assailants. Further investigation by police revealed that Wells’s wounds were self-inflicted and the incident never took place. Wells was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court by the Honorable Joyce Mahoney. Wells was sent to the SCCF on $2000 Cash/$4000 Bond with a return date of September 10, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
