Haz-Mat incident at Seneca Falls residence

The Seneca Falls Police and Fire Departments responded to 17 Van Cleef Street on Sunday, February 8th, 2009 at about 1:15pm for a reported gas spill. Approximately 1-2 gallons of gasoline was spilled in the flooded basement of the residence. The contaminated water was pumped out and transferred off site by the Seneca Falls Village Water Department. The occupants were placed in alternative housing due to odor concerns. SFPD and SFFD were assisted by Waterloo Fire Department, Environmental Conservation Police, DEC HazMat Spill Team, and Seneca County Code Enforcement.
