TCAT Announces 2011 Route Changes

TCAT today announced route changes that will go into effect Sunday, Jan. 16.As reported earlier, the Schuyler County Legislature in November decided to cut funding for TCAT’s Route 20 service in that county. To give passengers more time to find other transportation, the TCAT Board of Directors agreed to extend service through Friday, Jan. 14.It is important to note that TCAT will continue to operate Route 20 service to and from Enfield with very slight timing adjustments, most running a few minutes later. Passengers are advised to refer to new schedules at bus stops or on TCAT’s website at www.tcat.bus.com.Other changes are:Route 43 – This route will have a timing adjustment at TC3 leaving at 3:55 p.m., or five minutes later.Route 51 – This route will be changed to depart from the Green Street Station at 35 minutes past the hour, or five minutes later.In addition, Route 51 service into East Hill Plaza will be provided in one direction. In the morning, this route will travel into East Hill Plaza in the inbound direction heading to Cornell University and downtown. After 12 p.m., this route will travel into East Hill Plaza in the outbound direction coming from Cornell and downtown. When the route is not going in the direction that travels into East Hill Plaza, the bus will stop on Pine Tree Road.Route 52 – This route will be changed to leave at 3:40 p.m., or five minutes later, from Newark Valley.Route 53 – This route will depart from Green Street at 5:40 p.m., or five minutes later.Route 67 – This route will no longer have a 3:48 p.m. trip from Green Street to Cornell’s B‑Lot.Route 82 – A bus stop has been added to East Hill Office building and the route will also have some very slight timing adjustments, most running a few minutes later. Again, passengers are encouraged to refer to updated schedules at bus stops or on TCAT’s website at www.tcatbus.com.
