Theft of farm stand is target of Ontario Cty pair

A Farmington man and Bloomfield woman were charged Sept. 8 with fourth-degree criminal mischief and attempted petit larceny after an incident at the intersection of County Roads 8 and 41 in Farmington, said Ontario County sheriff’s deputies. Justin D. Hooten, 23 of 1226 Mertensia Road and Jessica A. Miller, 20, allegedly tried to cut a padlock off of a lock box at a farm stand, deputies said. Hooten was also charged with possession of burglar’s tools and second-degree criminal contempt; deputies said there is an active order of protection that prohibits him from being around Miller. Hooten was arraigned before the Farmington Town Court and sent to Ontario County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insurance bond. Miller was issued an appearance ticket. Both are scheduled to return to Farmington Court at a later date.
