Women’s Rights National Park Winter Film Fest

Women’s Rights National Historical Park is pleased to offer its first annual Winter Film Festival every Friday and Saturday beginning this November and running through April 2012.The Festival will feature a variety of films highlighting some of America’s National Parks, as well as films on topics in women’s and African-American history. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our national treasures,” said Park Superintendent Tammy Duchesne.Women’s Rights National Historical Park exists to commemorate and preserve the events of the First Women’s Rights Convention that was held in 1848. It is one of nearly 400 sites in America’s National Park Service system. “We are proud to be part of such a significant heritage, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating our shared history and culture through film,” said Duchesne. All Festival films begin at noon in the Guntzel Theater, located at the Women’s Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center at 136 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls. Because film lengths vary, visitors are encouraged to call if they are interested in a particular showing. All park programs are free and open to the public.
