Zotos’ Turbines finally Turn

After a several months long delay, the twin wind powered turbines are doing what they were built to do…..produce electricity for Zotos International. The turbines were completed this past spring but were not able to go online because of the potential of possible problems with their proximity to New York State Electric & Gas Corporation’s transmission lines. A spirit of co-operation prevailed between Zotos and NYSE&G with one line being moved and one being buried resulting in problem solved, let the generators turn. There is to be some final testing of the turbines and connection to the power grid should follow shortly.According to a Zotos official, this is probably the largest wind powered generating facility in the country. Projections put the turbines at providing 60 to 70 percent of Zotos’ on site power needs.
