Flatbed spills scrap metal on 414 after crash

On February 7th 2012 at 8: 56 AM the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury commercial vehicle accident on State Route 414 in the Town of Fayette. A flatbed truck with a loaded 50 yard roll off container on the back of it was north bound on State Route 414 when tire failed causing the truck to go to the east shoulder of the road. The driver Steven L. Parsons age 56 of Beaver Dams over corrected and the truck over turned and landed on the passenger side. The truck slid north and left the roadway coming to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road The container on the back of the truck was fully loaded with scrap metal and it’s contents were emptied out into the road. Parson’s was trapped in the vehicle. Parsons was assisted from the truck by a nearby resident. He suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance. Deputies closed the road for about 3 hours to conduct the investigation and to allow crews to clean up the debris. Parsons was issued a traffic ticket for an unsafe tire and will have to appear in Fayette Town Court at a later date to answer the charge. Also assisting at the scene were firefighters from Fayette Vol. Fire Department.
