Cayuga Sheriff makes arrest in Throop burglaries

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has made one arrest in connection with two burglaries which occurred on Lasher Rd. in the Town of Throop back in mid February 2012. At the time, several power tools were reported stolen from inside of a vacant home that was being renovated as well as a barn located on the same property. The two buildings were entered on different dates.On Monday, Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Allan M. Laury age 19 of 2 Park St. Port Byron in connection with the burglary of the barn. Laury was charged with Burglary in the third degree (felony) and Petit Larceny (misdemeanor). Laury was arraigned in the Town of Brutus Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. As a result of the investigation a salamander heater and a pair of bolt cutters stolen from the house have been recovered.
