Geneva man assaults W’loo couple with knife, bat

On 05/06/12 Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Orlando Morales, age 53, of 473 Hamilton Street Apt. 17 Geneva for 2 counts of attempted Assault in the First Degree. Morales is accused of entering a residence in the Town of Waterloo armed with a knife and baseball bat and then waiting until the residents came home. He then assaulted a male and female with the baseball bat causing contusions and abrasions to their heads. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Geneva General Hospital for treatment. Morales fled the scene and was apprehended in the Town of Seneca Falls by a member of the New York State Park Police. Morales was charged with 2 counts of attempted Assault in the First Degree and he was arraigned before the Town of Waterloo Court where he was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in Court on 05/10/12 at 4:30pm. T he Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the NYS Police, Park Police and the Seneca Falls Police Department. The investigation is continuing and further charges are possible.
