Waterfront Fest coming to Watkins Glen in June

The 19th Annual Watkins Glen Waterfront Festival & Cardboard Boat Regatta is Family Style fun! Held in Watkins Glen at Seneca Harbor Park…this unique waterfront event captures the spirit of the Finger Lakes. Escape to paradise amid the enchanting peacefulness and beauty of Seneca Harbor as dusk becomes night amid the glow of the Lighting of the Harbor. Harbor Lights is the newest event to the Waterfront Festival. Friday evening includes Musical Entertainment all along the Seneca Harbor Waterfront. The Food Court will fill your appetite with a variety of everybody’s favorite fair foods and Barnacle Bill’s Bingo Tent is the perfect place to enjoy a game of family bingo. The public are encouraged, and maybe even bribed, to vote for their favorite cardboard boat. All money collected for the “People’s Choice” benefits JDRF. At 2pm it’s the 19th Edition of the “Nearly Famous” Cardboard Boat Regatta. Laugh and applaud the bold and adventurous Captains and Crews of the Cardboard Boat Regatta as they bravely “sail’ their cardboard crafts from launch to break wall to finish line. The Cardboard Radio Network announcers, Scott Free, Ally Payne and Michele Benjamin, keep everyone informed about the antics of the Captains and Crews and whether they sink or made it to the finish line!And keep in mind, as with all Watkins Glen Promotions events, all activities and entertainment at the Waterfront Festival are free, including parking.On Sunday your “Finger Lakes Getaway” can take you in many directions Watkins Glen offers hiking and biking trails, camping, fishing charters, boating, marinas, sports fields and playgrounds, world famous fishing and of course SHOPPING!
