Seneca Falls Farmers Market Opens Today

It’s time once again to shop local and shop fresh…the Seneca Falls Farmers Market is opening TOMORROW, Wednesday, May 30th at 9AM in People’s Park. Fifteen vendors are slated to be on hand with everything from fresh produce to eggs and meat to locally made crafts, flowers, cheese, and fresh baked goods. Six of those vendors are new to the market this year so come down and check out the new offerings. And once again there will be lunch available in the park, this year from Dave & Rita’s Farm Market and Bakery. So spend your lunch hour shopping for locally produced and made goods, then grab a bite to eat to take back to the office or enjoy it right there at one of the picnic tables by the canal. Plenty of friendly people and fresh LOCAL products! Vendors will be at the park until 1:30PM each Wednesday from now until mid-October. And Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension will have nutrition staff on hand with tasty recipes featuring produce available locally each week and also taste testing of some of these recipes. This will be the fifth year of the market at People’s Park and it just keeps getting bigger and better. Please show your support for the local economy by visiting the market. Seneca Falls Development Corporation and the Town of Seneca Falls are helping make the market possible again this year. Please pass this email on to friends, family, neighbors, co-workers so everyone can take advantage of buying fresh and local. And remember, all vendors that have eligible products accept Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards for food stamp recipients. Just see the market manager for details. And all produce vendors will be accepting WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) coupons.
