Three arrested in Varick horse custody incident

A joint investigation conducted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s Office resulted in the arrest of the following persons:Virginia L McWhorter, 54, 4438 County Road #121, Romulus New York 14541Charge: Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.Abraham Shamah, 43, 4301 Ridge Road, Fayette, New YorkCharge: Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Petit LarcenyJeffrey S. Ball, Jr., 22, 4301 Ridge Road, Fayette, New YorkCharge: Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and Petit LarcenyIt is alleged that McWhorter, Shamah and Ball went to a private residence in the Town of Varick to check on the well being of two horses. While there, it is further alleged, McWhorter, Shamah and Bell, threatened and intimidated the horse owners into signing over custody of the horses in order to avoid prosecution and fines. Shamah and Ball then took custody of the horses along with Tack and failled to return the Tack to the owners.All there have been issued appearance tickets and Shamah and Ball are to appear on 09-28-12 at 1930 hrs to the Town of Varick Court to answer the charges. McWhorter is to appear on 10-05-12 at 1930 hrs to answer the charges against her in the Varick Town court.The horses in question are being held at a farm in Ontario County pending court action.
