Two arrests made in Sempronius burglaries

Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two persons in connection with three burglaries which occurred on various dates during the month of August in the Town of Sempronius. All of the burglaries involved forced entry and the theft of hand tools, power tools, generators and electrical wiring. DurkeeBurglaries occurred on Dresserville Rd., Poverty Lane and Franklin Rd. Detectives have recovered some of the property stolen in these burglaries however there is still several hundred dollars worth of tools missing. Charged are: Ryan R. Durkee age 19 of 19 Elm St. Cortland, N.Y. – arrested 9/7/12 at the PSB and arraigned in the Town of Brutus Court. Remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of Janack$10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.Jeffrey L. Janack age 47 of 21 James St. Homer, N.Y. – arrested 9/10/12 at the PSB and arraigned in the Town of Owasco Court. Remanded to the Cayuga County Jail without bail due to having 3 prior felony convictions. Both subjects were charged with (3) counts of Burglary in the third degree (felony). Additional charges and additional arrests may be forthcoming.
