Changes at TCAT’s Green Street Station

Gimme Coffee! is leaving TCAT’s Green Street Station effective close of business day, 7 p.m. Wed., Nov. 14.Green Street Station will be closed all day Thurs., Nov. 15. As always, outdoor bus shelters are available to passengers.For those needing to buy TCAT bus passes, Green Street Pharmacy, located just next door to the station at 131 E. Green St. (Suite # 2), will begin selling Tcard bus passes, starting noon, Wed., Nov. 14.Green Street Station will re‑open as a supervised passenger waiting area only, starting Friday, Nov. 16. New hours will be during peak usage times from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. The station will be closed on Sundays.Green Street Station is currently in transition as TCAT searches (via a request for proposal issued in recent weeks) for a new vendor to replace Gimme Coffee!, which has subleased space and operated a café at the station since November, 2009.“TCAT’s Green Street Station is a state‑of‑the‑art designed facility and a prime downtown location,” said Dan Tome, TCAT purchasing and projects manager. He noted that the deadline for the request for proposal is Mon., Nov. 16. The request for proposal has been listed in several local publications and can also be located found on TCAT’s web site http://www.tcatbus.com./news/category/tcat-projects.html. “TCAT will announce our vendor plans upon review of proposed submittals,” Tome said. “Ultimately, our goal is retaining the state‑of‑the‑art passenger amenities as we have in the past.”
