Mercy Flight called to Waterloo 2-car wreck

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday at 3:50 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the area of 395 Waterloo Geneva Road in the Town of Waterloo for a 2 car personal injury motor vehicle accident.It is reported that a 2005 Chrysler mini van driven by 49 year old Deborah A. Haynes of Peterman Road apartments in Seneca Falls rear ended a 2012 Jeep being operated by 64 year old Linda L. Mitchell of County Road 28 in Phelps.Mitchell was stopped in the eastbound lane awaiting traffic so she could pull into the Kwik Fill gas station at 395 Waterloo Geneva Road when she was rear-ended. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.The passengers in Mitchell’s vehicle, 13 year old Thomas J. Reardon, 15 year old Dexter D. Eaves and 6 year old Searah Reardon all of 1196 County 23 in Phelps were uninjured during the collision. Mitchell was transported to Geneva General Hospital for chest pain.The operator of the minivan, Haynes was transported to Geneva General for Chest and arm pain. A passenger in Haynes vehicle, 30 year old Kelly L. French of 15 Sacket Street Seneca Falls was flown from the scene by Mercy Flight for stomach pain. 67 year old Mark C. Bender also of Sacket Street was transported to Geneva General after the crash as well.Haynes was issued a ticket for following too closely returnable to the Town of Waterloo Court on the 31st of October 2013 at 5:00 pm.Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Border city FD and Ambulance Crews from the North Seneca, South Seneca, Phelps and Fingerlakes Ambulance.
