Arrest made in September hit & run in Waterloo

On Tuesday, October 8th, 2013, the Waterloo Police Department arrested Tara E. Oldfield-Parker, age 20 of West Main Street, Waterloo, on an arrest warrant signed by the Waterloo Village Court. The arrest came as a result of an investigation conducted by the Waterloo Police Department after a report of a personal injury hit and run accident on September 14th, 2013 at around 6:00 pm.During the investigation, it was determined Oldfield-Parker allegedly drove a vehicle without the owners consent while she did not have a license, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of East Williams Street/North Virginia Street, failed to yield to a vehicle traveling southbound on North Virginia Street and then drove into the path of a southbound vehicle operated by a 70 year old female.Following the accident, Oldfield-Parker allegedly exited the vehicle and walked away from the scene without waiting for police to arrive or calling 911 to report the accident. The driver of the other vehicle sustained a right foot injury from the collision and was treated on scene by North Seneca Ambulance.Oldfield-Parker was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failed to stop at stop sign, failed to yield the right of way, driving without a license and unlawful possession of marijuana after police recovered a small quantity of the drug in the vehicle she was operating.Oldfield-Parker was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1500.00 bail. She is to appear at a later date to answer to these charges.
