Historic North Receives Gateway Sign

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, the Historic North Neighborhood Association celebrated in a small ceremony the placement of their new gateway sign. The sign was placed by the Department of Public Works Peter Miller of Clemen Signs on Monday, April 21 at the start of the North Main Street median. “It’s great to see everything come together. I’m not sure how many realize the amount of work that goes into such an effort, from creating, evaluating and selecting designs to developing a strategic plan for our neighborhood and a tag line that succinctly captures what our neighborhood is all about. Many thanks to all the folks who participated in the process and helped make it happen,” said Historic North resident Scott Ostrowski. The next meeting for Historic North is scheduled for this Saturday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m. at the Geneva Neighborhood Association located at 430 Exchange Street. The Historic North Neighborhood Association organized in 2010. It hosted the second annual Garden Walk Geneva, showcasing the gardens of private properties along North Main Street. It also initiated the “Light Up Historic North” project encouraging residents to keep a porch light on during the evening, amongst other activities.
