Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a car fire on Water Street in the Village of Ovid on Tuesday just before 9 am. Upon the arrival of Sheriffs’ Deputies the vehicle was fully engulfed.The Ovid Fire Department responded and had the blaze under control within minutes.The owner Terry L. Manheim, age 62 of 2124 Water Street, was the operator of the car at the time escaped the vehicle just as the car went up in flames. The vehicle, which was a 1999 Oldsmobile was a total loss and was towed from the scene. There were no injuries.The fire was found to be caused by a gas leak and was ruled accidental.
