Waterloo police after breaks bone in fight w/ suspect

On Thursday at 01:15 am, the Waterloo Village Police Department arrested Matthew J. Tyler, age 23 of East Main Street in Waterloo and Grant M. Price, age 20 of Whiskey Hill Road in Waterloo on the charges of Robbery 2nd Degree (class C Felony), Assault 2nd Degree (class D Felony) and Petit Larceny.The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 13, 2014 where Price and Tyler are accused of being involved in an attack against a village resident while at 105 East Main Street, Waterloo. Once the victim was beaten to the ground the suspects allegedly stole money from the victim and fled the scene. The victim was treated by North Seneca Ambulance and taken to Geneva General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and has since been released from the hospital.While under arrest at the Police Station Matthew Tyler became combative, went after and began to fight with officers inside the police station. A Waterloo Police Officer was injured during the altercation and received treatment by North Seneca Ambulance and Geneva General Hospital for a broken bone.Matthew Tyler was arrested for Assault on a Police Officer (class C Felony) following this incident. Waterloo Police were assisted by the Seneca county Sheriff’s Department and the NYS Police.Matthew Tyler was arraigned in Waterloo Village court and was sent to the Seneca County Jail on $10,000 cash/ $20,000 Bond.Grant Price was arraigned in Waterloo Village court and was sent to the Seneca county Jail on $5,000 cash/ $10,000 Bond.The investigation into the Robbery is still ongoing and further arrest are pending.
