Pepper spray needed at Seneca Falls disturbance

Three people are facing multiple charges following a police investigation into a disturbance at the intersection of W. Bayard St. and Bridge St. on Saturday morning August 30th, 2014 at about 2:09am. Police observed two females in an altercation as well as a male operating a motor vehicle that may have been involved with the disturbance. The vehicle was operated by David J. Stone, age 33, of 2 Fall Street, Apt. 30, Seneca Falls, NY. Police suspected Stone to be operating in an intoxicated condition and while he was performing field sobriety tests the two females from the original disturbance became belligerent and began to interfere with the testing and investigation. Police took Michelle A. Scharett, age 30, of 2 Fall Street, Apt. 30, Seneca Falls, NY into custody and while doing so Scharett resisted arrest by kicking and biting officers, causing officers to deploy pepper spray to subdue Scharett. No officers were injured.While taking Scharett into custody the second female, Andrea Cook, age 27, of 12 Chapel Street, Seneca Falls, NY began to interfere with an officer and was subsequently taken into custody. While Cook was being she also actively resisted officers.Scharett and Cook were arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court on various charges and were committed. While awaiting transport to the county correctional facility Cook attempted to damage property at the police station.David J. Stone, age 33, of 2 Fall Street, Apt. 30, Seneca Falls, NY was charged with DWI and Operating with a BAC of 0.08% or Higher and released on traffic tickets and is to appear in court on 09/11/14 at 10:00 am to answer the charges.Michelle A. Scharett, age 30, of 2 Fall Street, Apt. 30, Seneca Falls, NY was charged with Disorderly Conduct, 2 Counts of Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest and was committed to SCCF on $1500 Cash/$3000 Bond and has to reappear in court on 09/10/14 at 9:00 am to answer the charges.Andrea Cook, age 27, of 12 Chapel Street, Seneca Falls, NY was charged with Obstructing Governmental in the 2ndDegree, Resisting Arrest and Attempted Criminal Mischief in the 4thDegree and was committed to SCCF on $1000 Cash/$2000 bond and has to reappear in court on 09/10/14 at 9:00 am to answer the charges.
