Cayuga Indian factions fight in Union Springs

Dozens of law enforcement officials and vehicles lined the intersection of Routes 90 and 326 in Union Springs after a fight between rival factions of the Cayuga Indian Nation broke out around noon on Wednesday at the Cayuga Nation’s Lake Side Trading property.Cayuga County sheriff’s deputies and state troopers responded to Lakeside Trading at 299 N. Cayuga St., Union Springs, around 12:06 p.m., according to Cayuga County 911 dispatch.One person was injured but it is unclear how he was injured or what the sequence of events were that led to the injury. One person was arrested on a charge of harassment and was issued an appearance ticket.
