2nd annual Pumpkin Walk this weekend in Waterloo

There will be fun, come rain or shine this weekend on Oak Island at the second annual Pumpkin Walk on Oak Island and the Waterloo Community Center. The event is sponsored by Waterloo Rotary and Interact.This family-friendly fun event will be on Saturday, October 25. Cost is $2 per person.“Rotarians have carved 30 huge pumpkins to decorate the walk and we are waiting to add your pumpkins to the collection to make a really big show this year,” said Kathy Sigrist, co-chair of the event. “We hope to have more than 100 pumpkins this year.”Make sure each pumpkin has a light inside to add to the atmosphere along the trail, added co-chair Coreen Lowry. Bring your pumpkin to Oak Island at 2-4 p.m. Come back at dusk to walk along the Oak Island trail, guided by Rotarians and Interact students in costume. You can take your pumpkin home after the walk.Inside the Waterloo Community Center, Rotarian Gina Suffredini and her crew have assembled a variety of Halloween games for all ages. And there will even be a family friendly Halloween movie for everyone to enjoy.Wear your own costume and join the fun. There will be Halloween treats to enjoy and even randomly awarded prizes.Proceeds benefit Rotary’s community service projects.Waterloo Rotary meets every Monday at 6:30 pm at Waterloo-Seneca Falls Holiday New members are always welcome.
