Extensive damage in Waterloo garage fire

On Saturday night at 7:20 pm the Waterloo Police Department and Waterloo Fire Department responded to 12 Stewart Street in the Village of Waterloo for the report of a garage fire.Upon arrival the detached garage located behind the above address was fully engulfed in fire. The three occupants inside the home as well as two dogs and a cat were evacuated without injury from the home. Occupants in surrounding homes were also evacuated due to the size of the fire.The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department. Following investigation, it was determined that the fire was caused by an accidental electrical issue. The structure was insured and there was estimated damage of $55,000.Also assisting on scene was the Seneca Falls Fire Department, Border City Fire Department, Fayette Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, NYSEG, Seneca County Code Enforcement, and the American Red Cross.Below is a low-quality video taken by a resident on Stewart Street in Waterloo with a phone on Saturday night during the fire.Warning: The person who filmed this video uses explicit language throughout.
