Search warrant nets drug arrest in Seneca Falls

On Friday the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested two subjects following two separate investigations. The first investigation resulted in the arrest of Tara E. Oldfield-Parker, age 21 of 25 Peterman Road, Apartment A-1, Seneca Falls, on two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and one count of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree. The charges stem from a search warrant executed on at her apartment by members of the Sheriff’s Office and Seneca Falls Police Department. Investigators seized a quantity of cocaine, zolpidem tartrate pills, and illicit drug packaging material from the apartment. It was also learned that a young child was living inside the apartment. Oldfield-Parker is currently on New York State Parole stemming from a 2013 arrest by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit for selling controlled substances. Oldfield-Parker was arraigned in the Junius Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1,500 cash bail/$3,000 secured bond. Oldfield-Parker is to reappear in the Seneca Falls Town Court on February 5, 2015 at 5 pm. The Seneca County Child Protective Services Unit and New York State Parole also assisted in the investigation. Felony charges relating to the sale of crack cocaine are also pending and Oldfield-Parker is also being held in the Correctional Facility on a Violation of Parole. The second investigation resulted in the arrest of Michael J. Rought, age 36 of 9501 Lodi/Covert Townline Road Lodi, on two counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree. The charges stem from a joint investigation between the Narcotics Unit and the Seneca County Child Protective Services Unit where it was learned that Rought smoked marijuana with two children under the age of seventeen. Rought was issued an appearance ticket to answer t he charges in the Covert Town Court on March 2, 2015 at 10 am.
