Victim revived, airlifted after Seneca Falls crash

On Saturday at about 12:20 pm the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department were dispatched along with the Seneca Falls Fire Department and North Seneca Ambulance for a one-vehicle accident on Cayuga Street. It was reported that a vehicle swerved off the road and struck a tree.Upon arrival Seneca Falls Police officers found the driver of the vehicle, Stephen Wawro, age 64 of Cayuga Street in Seneca Falls, unconscious and not breathing. Wawro was taken out of the vehicle and CPR was started, and officers were able to deliver a shock from the AED. The ambulance arrived and delivered two more shocks. When Wawro was loaded into the ambulance he had a pulse and was breathing.North Seneca Ambulance transported Wawro to Lifenet Headquarters where he was flown by Lifenet Medical Helicopter to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.An update from the hospital later in the evening stated that Wawro was in critical condition. It is unknown what caused the accident, which is still under investigation.
