Chase leads to 3 arrests in Penn Yan

On Thursday the Penn Yan Police arrested three suspects in connection with a larceny complaint that occurred on Wednesday.While investigating the complaint, Village Police obtained names of the suspects and were able to interview one, while searching for the other two.The Village Police spotted the two suspects on the Outlet Trail and proceeded to engage in a pursuit on foot. After a short chase the officers arrested 23 year old Nicholas Irwin of Plum Point Road in Himrod. It was found that Irwin was wanted on two Bench Warrants out of the Penn Yan Village Court and was ultimately charged with resisting arrest.A 16 year old, who is eligible for Youthful Offender Status, was charged with Petit Larceny.The third suspect, an 18 year old male who is also eligible for Youthful Offender Status, was charged with giving a False Written Statement and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Village Court at a later date.Irwin and the 16 year old female were arraigned in the Penn Yan Village Court where bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 property bond for Irwin and $1,000 cash or $2,000 property bond for the female. Both were then remanded to the Yates County Jail.
