3 wanted by SCSD for Cayuga Nation shooting

On September 10, 2015, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 2906 County Road 124 in the Town of Varick, New York for the report of shots fired. Arriving units determined that a confrontation took place betweenrival factions of the Cayuga Indian Nation Unity Council and an attempt was made to take control of Cayuga Indian Nation property for the purpose of evicting the current residents of the house. As the confrontation wasending, a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck which belonged to the Cayuga Indian Nation Unity Council was set on fire and totally destroyed.Sheriff’s Deputies determined that two persons had been shot, Dustin Sharpe, age 30, 6176 Mariam Boulevard, Hamburg, New York was shot multiple times in the ankle and he was transported to Geneva General Hospital and later transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital, he has since been released. Also shot was Spencer F. Gauthier, age 44, 64 Fawn Avenue, Salamanca, New York who was shot in the back with a shotgun by a resident at the residence. He was transported to Geneva General Hospital and later transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, he has since been released from the hospital.Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies identified four persons involved in the shooting and arson.On, October 1, 2015, Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jordan B. Abrams, age 23, of 2906 County Road 124, Varick, New York. Abrams was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree a Class B felony. It is alleged that Abrams using a high powered semi-automatic BB rifle shot a male Unity Council member numerous times in the ankle while the male was running away from the house causing serious physical injury to the male victim’s ankle and leg. Jordan Abrams was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree and committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond Abrams has since been released from jail after the victim/witness failed to attend and testify at a felony hearing held on 10/13/15 in the Town of Varick.Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies have obtained arrest warrants and are actively searching for the following persons: “We have confirmed that the following persons we are actively searching for are being secreted on Federally recognized Indian reservations in Central and Western New York,” according to Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg. I am calling on the Cayuga Indian Nation to turn over these individuals to the Sheriff’s Office to faceprosecution”, continued Stenberg.● Marcus A Redeye, age 18, of 2906 County Road 124, Varick, New York for Assault in the Second Degree.● Peter J. Edwards II, age 31, of 2906 County Road 124, Varick, New York for Tampering with Physical Evidence. a Class E Felony; Arson in the Third Degree, a Class C felony and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D felony.● Devin R. Bomberry, age 23, of 2906 County Road 124, Varick, New York for Arson 3rd a Class C Felony and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D felony
