Four arrested in Waterloo heroin sting

On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested multiple people following an investigation into the sale and distribution of heroin in the local community. A search warrant was executed at 7:09am at 26 Church Street in the Village of Waterloo by members of the Sheriff’s Office, Waterloo Police Department, and New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET). Sheriff’s Investigators seized a quantity of heroin, hypodermic needles, unlawfully possessed prescription pills, and brass knuckles from the residence. Arrested were the following: Angela M. Wheeler, age 37, of 26 Church Street, Waterloo, New York, on charges of: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B FelonyCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B FelonyCriminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D FelonyCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a Class A MisdemeanorUnlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree (three counts), Class A Misdemeanors It is alleged that Wheeler sold heroin in the local community, possessed the metal knuckles in her bedroom, and possessed heroin in close proximity to three children that reside in the residence. Wheeler was arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 secured bond. Wheeler is to reappear in the Waterloo Village Court on December 18, 2015 at 10am. Austin T. Wheeler, age 18, no permanent address, on charges of: Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B FelonyCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony It is also alleged that Wheeler sold heroin in the local community and was taken into custody in the Town of Waterloo following a brief foot pursuit after he was spotted by Seneca County Probation Officers and immediately fled on foot. Members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police quickly responded to assist and Wheeler was taken into custody soon after. Wheeler was initially turned over to the Waterloo Pol ice Department as he was wanted by their agency. Following the Waterloo Police Department arrest, Wheeler was charged by Sheriff’s Investigators and arraigned in the Lodi Town Court. Wheeler was then remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on additional bail of $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 secured bond as he was already remanded on bail from the Waterloo Police Department arrest. Wheeler is to reappear in the Lodi Town Court on December 18, 2015 at 11:30am. Michael A. Brewer, age 39, of 26 Church Street, Waterloo, New York, on a charge of: Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony It is alleged that Brewer also possessed the metal knuckles in his bedroom. Brewer was arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail due to previous felony convictions. Brewer is to reappear in the Waterloo Village Court on December 18, 2015 at 9am. Devin J. Wheeler, age 19, of 26 Church Street, Waterloo, New York, had an active warrant for his arrest on a charge of Violation of Probation and was taken into custody at the scene of the search warrant and turned over to Seneca County Probation Officers. Wheeler was subsequently arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on no bail. Wheeler is to reappear in the Waterloo Village Court on December 23, 2015 at 9am. The Seneca County Child Protective Services Unit, Seneca County Code Enforcement Office, and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics K-9 Unit also assisted at the scene of the search warrant. The investigation remains open and additional charges may be pending. This investigation was a joint effort between the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and the Waterloo Police Department.
