Yates Community Endowment seeks grant applicants

Nonprofit organizations based in Yates County and those that serve Yates County are invited to apply for a grant from the Yates Community Endowment.To qualify, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization or sponsored by a charitable, nonprofit organization. Grant funds must be used in Yates County and benefit Yates County residents.Successful applications will:• Focus on an unmet need• Address an important quality of life and/or economic development issue• Offer broad community benefit • Be rooted in the local community and build on local strengths• Be preventive rather than remedial• Avoid duplication with other programs or servicesApplicants must demonstrate that the project can be sustained if the project is expected to continue beyond the grant period and be able to measure the project’s success and its results in the community.To review the grant criteria and connect to the online application, go to www.racf.org/YCEgrant. Applications are due by 5 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2016.The Yates Community Endowment was established as an affiliate of Rochester Area Community Foundation in 2011. Under the guidance of a 13-member, all-volunteer and all-local advisory board, the Endowment supports and invests in Yates County. In 2015, the Endowment awarded $34,900 in grants.
