Heroin overdose victim saved by Yates County PD

Deputies responded to a 911 call of possible overdose on Eastman Ave (Indian Pines) in the town of Jerusalem at 11:35 am on Thursday. Yates County Deputy Sheriff Brandon Jensen arrived within one minute of the call and discovered a 23 yr old Penn Yan female that had overdosed after a heroin injection who was gasping to breath and went unconscious. He immediately administered Narcan intranasal as trained, and Penn Yan Police officer Zebrowski arrived with additional Narcan and they additionally injected the unconscious woman with more Narcan. Penn Yan Ambulance EMS and Medic 55 arrived as the female began breathing and was revived. She was transported to S&S Hospital where she is satisfactory condition. Investigation show the heroin was purchased in Rochester. Investigation continues.Sheriff Ron Spike said, “I give praise to Deputy Jensen and to Officer Zebrowski for saving a girl’s life with the Narcan which we have in every police vehicle in this county, and did as they were trained to do.” He continued, “Heroin is cheap, addictive and deadly.”
