W-FL Monday: Romulus boys win second straight

The Romulus Warriors won their first boys varsity basketball game in 74 contests last Friday night and now are riding a 2-game winning streak after defeating Marion 58-48 on Monday night. Reese Holohan scored 23 of the Black Knight’s 48 points but it was not enough to overcome a balanced Romulus attack and Ben Wiant’s 12 point, 16 rebound effort. Romulus improves to 2-9 but won’t be able to savor the pair of wins for long. The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Red Jacket face the 6-5 Indians. Can Coach Joe Pysnack’s team make it three-in-a-row?Also in action on Monday night…#6 Penn Yan stepped out of league to face a 2-9 Bath-Haverling and escaped with a 4 point win putting up just 42 points. The Mustangs had previously beaten Bath-Haverling 64-26 back on December 4th.Two Wayne County teams were in action at home. East Rochester defeated Rochester Academy Charter School, 60-44.
