Snowy scenes in regional lake effect bands

While it was cold throughout the Finger Lakes on Wednesday, it was also sunny and mostly precipitation free. That wasn’t the case for the northeastern corner of our region. Communities in northern Cayuga County and northeastern Wayne County were caught right in a steady stream of lake effect snow off Lake Ontario that dumped over a foot of snow in places like Martville and Red Creek. Also hit hard by the lake effect was areas to the east in Onondaga County and, of course, Buffalo to the west.
