W-FL Thursday: NR-W still unbeaten

The undefeated and #1 ranked North Rose-Wolcott Cougars hosted rival Red Creek on a snowy Thursday night in Wolcott. The Cougars fell behind by as many as eight points early in the contest before storming back to record a 54-39 win to improve their record to 12-0. They are the only remaining undefeated Wayne-Finger Lakes boys varsity basketball team.Just one game behind NR-W in the Wayne County league standings is East Rochester. ER had all they could handle in their own gym from the Lyons Lions who had the game tied before Che’Vez Gaines buried a three-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to secure a 55-52 win. Lyons freshman Justice Smith led all scorers with 24. Also in Wayne County action, Clyde-Savannah continued their hot play with a 80-43 rout of Gananda and Sodus handled Williamson 47-28.In the FL West, Naples, Dundee and Marcus Whitman were all winners.
