Seneca Falls man charged with unlawful surveillance

A man in Seneca Falls has been charged with six counts of unlawful surveillance, according to reports from Seneca County authorities. Joseph Velte, of Seneca Falls was arrested and charged with the six counts of unlawful surveillance stemming from six separate incidents in 2011. The charges come after authorities launched an investigation into the matter in December when digital evidence was obtained. When police in Seneca County were able to identify the victim that is when charges came to fruition. The 36-year-old was arrested and arraigned in Town of Seneca Falls court, where he was sent to Seneca County Correctional Facility. FingerLakes1.com’s independent investigation into the proceedings turned up information, which indicated that Velte had also been released the same afternoon he arrived at the facility.His bail was set at $3,000 cash and $6,000 bond.
