NWS issues Wind Advisory for CNY

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for several counties in the Finger Lakes. Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Yates, and Tompkins counties all are under a Wind Advisory, which means residents should pick any loose items that could be picked up by the winds that will gusts up to 50 mph.The Wind Advisory will start and end on Wednesday, which means that the event will be relatively short-lived. That being said, the advisory begins at 2 am and will run until 4 pm. The Wind Advisory will usher in warmer weather for Wednesday, as current forecasts indicate that highs will stay between 58 and 60 degrees during the afternoon, when the wet weather moves out of the region.The National Weather Service says that travel could become difficult with gusts between 45 and 50 mph, with scattered power outages and and isolated tree damage. Those driving should keep a firm grasp on the wheel during this event, especially if they are driving high-profile vehicles.
