Geneva Police ID pair in shooting on Sunday

Police have identified the pair of individuals killed in Geneva in what Police described as a murder/suicide.On Sunday, February 21st, at approximately 11:45 am, the Geneva Police Department received several calls of a shooting that had just occurred on Exchange St. in the area of the Exchange Place lot. Officers arrived at the location and observed two individuals with gunshot wounds with one of them deceased. Officers immediately started CPR on the other individual until emergency personnel responded and transported the victim to the Geneva General Hospital. The individual was pronounced dead at the hospital.The investigation is in the very early stages and several witnesses are being interviewed. The preliminary investigation has determined that this is a murder/suicide. A weapon was located at the scene and the department is not looking for any further suspects. There is no danger to the public or community.Detectives have identified the pair involved. Police and witnesses describe a situation where Emily Carson, the victim, was shot at least once in the abdomen by the suspect, Pedro Pacheco. The crime is still being investigated by the Geneva Police Department with assistance of the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
