H.P. Neun will close in Lyons and SF

A packaging company that has been a staple in Wayne County, and specifically Lyons, will be closing it’s doors permanently this spring. A Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification was filed with the Department of Labor in New York State by H.P. Neun indicating that they would be closing this spring.According to the release, the company will retain no employees and the building or business will be sold. Details are not clear at this point. However, this will mean 64 employees will be without a job come May. The documentation points to a plant closure window of May 26th of this year. The layoffs will begin in the beginning of May and by the 26th all employees will have ended their time with H.P. Neun. H.P. Neun is located at 100 Dunn Road in Lyons. However, they also operate a secondary location in Seneca Falls, located at 50 Johnston Street, which according to the WARN documentation will be impacted by the closure. All 29 employees at this location will also be laid off.H.P. Neun is one of the oldest packaging companies in New York State. It was founded in 1880 and has been a long-time leader in packaging innovation. The company has not released a statement yet regarding the filing, or the pending closure.Between the two locations 93 employees will be impacted by the closure.
