Canal Fest coming back to Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls Business Association is bringing Canal Fest back to Seneca Falls. Starting in 1963 and continuing for many years, Canal Fest was a popular summer event until lack of volunteers brought it to a close in the early 2000’s. “Our newly revived Canal Fest will include amusement rides, food vendors, arts & crafts booths, live music, fire works, a beer garden and much, much more,” said Ann Sandroni President of Seneca Falls Business Association, the festival’s organizer, “but there is much planning to be done to make it a success.” A planning meeting open to the public will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 7 pm at the Seneca Falls Library. Community members are invited to attend to help with the planning of the festival and volunteers can signup at that time, as many will be needed. Local organizations are also encouraged to send representatives to learn how they can be a part of this exciting event. Light refreshments will be served. Canal Fest is scheduled for July 8-10 of this year and will take place along both sides of the Seneca Falls Canal Harbor and People’s Park.
