Suspects flee after afternoon shooting in Ithaca

On Wednesday at about 12:21 pm Ithaca Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue regarding the report of a gunshot in the area. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to several witnesses but did not locate a victim or suspect.Witnesses advised that during an argument involving at least two people one of them discharged a round from a handgun.A Honda minivan containing at least one of the involved people left the area after the round was discharged, and the other person(s) involved ran from the area on foot. The gun has not been recovered at this time.Two of the people involved in the altercation are described as black males but no further description is available at this time.
