Traffic stop leads to drug charge in CA

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday, March 24th at approximately 7:37 pm a Canandaigua man was arrested when he was found to be in possession of heroin and suboxone. Deputies arrested Jeffrey Eckleben, 33, of Canandaigua following a suspicious vehicle complaint. Eckleben was found to be in possession of heroin and suboxone while he was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Joshua Maynard, 32, of Canandaigua. Eckleben was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Maynard was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle from a previous complaint in the Town of Hopewell. Eckleben and Maynard were arraigned in the Canandaigua Town Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail, or $1,000 insurance bond. Eckleben and Maynard will appear before the Canandaigua Town Court and Hopewell Town Court respectively at a later date to answer the charges.
