Canandaigua man charged with first degree rape

On Thursday the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Canandaigua man on first degree rape charges after an investigation into a physical altercation, which took place on March 23rd.Deputies say that on March 23rd Jacob D. Beaton, 24, of Canandaigua attacked a female victim. The investigation revealed that Beaton physically abused, strangled, raped, and threatened to kill a female victim during the early morning hours of that day. He was charged with rape in the first degree, and arraigned in Phelps Town Court with Judge Fisher presiding. He was subsequently remanded to the Ontario County Jail on $100,000 cash bail, or $200,000 insurance bond.
