National Day of Prayer in Waterloo set for May 5

The 65th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed on Thursday, May 5, 2016 by millions of Americans at thousands of locations across our Nation. A local celebration will be held at 6:00 pm at Lafayette Park on West Main Street in Waterloo. The event will be filled with prayer for our government leaders, military, churches, families, media, education, and businesses. This year’s theme is ‘Wake Up America’. Judy Mayne, Committee Chair explains, “this day will emphasize the need for individuals to place their faith in God, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities, and men. At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray in unity with millions of other Americans, in bringing light and hope to our country through the power of prayer.”For more information about the National Day of Prayer, visit the website: www.nationaldayofprayer.org or contact Judy Mayne at 315-539-2963. It is suggested that participants bring lawn chairs for their comfort.
