CCMI receives $80,000 grant to expand and create jobs

The City of Geneva is proud to announce that local company, CCMI, Inc. has received an $80,000 NYS Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business Program award from the New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) agency.”CCMI and the Lewis family are an outstanding example of the economic impact of local manufacturing. The jobs created, and improvements to the factory will make a tremendous mark on Geneva. We are proud that CCMI calls Geneva home, and happy to support this critical project,” said City Manager Matt Horn.CCMI, which is located on Middle Street, has provided Cut Sheet Thermo/Vacuum forming, CNC Routing and Milling, as well as machining of plastics, metals, composites, and fabrication in Geneva since 1991. The award will be used to purchase machinery, and create four new full-time positions over the next two years.”The support we’ve received from the State of New York and the City of Geneva will allow CCMI to continue to grow and create jobs in our community. New York State has been a great place to do business and we look forward to continued success,” said Anthony Lewis, President of CCMI, Inc.This project is closely aligned with the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council’s priorities, and seeks to grow the economy by creating jobs for people in the Finger Lakes Region. New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) includes the Affordable Housing Corporation, the Division of Housing and Community Renewal, the Housing Finance Agency, State of New York Mortgage Agency, Housing Trust Fund Corporation and others. 2016 marks the fourth year of Governor Cuomo’s $1 billion statewide House NY program, whose goal is to create or preserve 14,300 affordable units by 2018. In 2015, HCR set a record for financing the creation or preservation of more than 11,000 affordable homes and apartments and was the #1 bond issuer in the nation with $2.5 billion issued. The agency stands ready to make good on the Governor’s new $10 billion 100,000 unit House NY 2020 commitment.
