Details have been released in the Route 96 accident, which involved three vehicles and temporarily shut down the roadway to traffic Tuesday morning.The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 10:26 am deputies from Ontario County, as well as Clifton Springs Fire and Finger Lakes Ambulance responded to a three car accident with multiple injuries. The accident was located at the intersection of State Route 96 and Kendall Street in the Town of Manchester.An initial investigation revealed that Louis Maggi, operating a 2007 Toyotal Highlander, which was pulling a black utility trailer was westbound on Route 96 east of Kendall Street when his vehicle rear ended a 2007 Ford Focus being operated by Lisa Crittenden. Crittenden’s vehicle was stopped in traffic at the intersection of Route 96 and Kendall Street, which propelled her vehicle into a third vehicle, which was also stopped at the intersection and being operated by Barb Winter. Winter was operating a 2015 Nissan, according to deputies.Maggi and Winter were transported to Clifton Springs Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance with minor injuries. A minor, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was also transported to Clifton Springs Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance.Crittenden was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance with head injuries. Initial reports suggested that Mercy Flight was called, but due to poor weather conditions – the request couldn’t be executed.The investigation is still underway and charges are pending completion.
