Ithaca Police seek help in locating robbery suspects

The Ithaca Police Department reports that on Wednesday at approximately 9:45 pm officers responded to the 300 block of West Buffalo Street regarding a robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived on scene, they spoke to the victim – who was bleeding from a laceration on his face.The victim said that he was walking on West Buffalo Street when three unidentified males passed by him in the same direction. The victim said that the third, and final male to pass him turned around suddenly and punched him multiple times in the face. The other two males began punching the victim, according to his account.The three males then grabbed ahold of the victim, forcefully removing his backpack – at the same time he tried to flee the scene. The three males then fled the area on foot. An uninvolved motorist stopped to help the victim, who called for police assistance.The victim declined medical treatment and all three suspects were described as “black males.” No further description was provided.
