Bristol crash sends one to hospital

On Tuesday at about 1:49 pm the Ontario County Sheriffs along with the Bristol Fire and Finger Lakes Ambulance responded to Route 20A at the intersection of County Road 2 in the Town of Bristol for a reported two car motor vehicle accident.Deputies investigation determined that Beth S. Knopf, age 56 of Bloomfield, was traveling eastbound on Route 20A in her 2013 Honda SUV behind Joseph T. Dioguardi, age 25 of Honeoye Falls, who was operating a 2006 Ford Mustang. Dioguardi slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 2, Knopf failed to yield to Dioguardi and struck his vehicle from behind. Knopf was treated for neck pain at the scene and released, Dioguardi was transported to Thompson Hospital for evaluation for a complaint of whiplash and back pain.Deputies issued Knopf a traffic citation for following too closely and will appear in Bristol Town Court at a later date.Saxby’s Auto and Bald Hill Auto assisted in towing the vehicles from the scene as they suffered extensive damage.
